We read the one-star reviews first

Before we made a shoe we read thousands of reviews of the comfort-shoe brands that advertise to people over fifty. Nobody was complaining that the shoes weren't cushioned enough. They were complaining that the shoes ran small, that the toe box still pinched, that the shoes looked like hospital shoes, that returns cost money and took a month, and that nobody answered their email.

So Ample starts from the two things those brands skip. First, the shape: a last that is widest at the toes, flat and flexible underneath, with a heel you step into. Second, the promise: true sizes, free exchanges from a US warehouse, a 30-day walk test you can take outdoors, and a person who replies within a day.

We are a small US company. Our shoes are made by an audited factory partner to our specification, inspected before they ship, and wear-tested by real women between 55 and 70 before a model goes on sale. When we have verified reviews we will show them. Until then we will not show you invented ones.
